A tour is a great way to get an overview of the island, the people and an overview of some of the best things to do in Maui. As you travel along the tour route you will see other Maui tours, include sailing trips at sunset and others offer morning snorkeling at Molokini. Those ocean tours should be checked out. Now on land, a tour across the valley isle, is also a must. Gaze out at the rainforest around Keanae and road to Hana waterfalls. Stroll down a black sand beach and hike along a dramatic coastline. Going out on tour is one of the best things to do in Maui with kids.
Take to the skies with a parachute without doing that falling part. Relax and enjoy the world below as you soar down the slopes of Haleakala with a certified instructor. Spend your days checking out many of Maui hiking trails. Most are quite tiny when comparing them to the west coast or appalachian hiking trails. The longest Maui hike is probably from Haleakala's Summit down to the ocean by way of the Kaupo Gap, is a comfortable three day hike. We enjoy doing quick hikes of a few hours up the gulches in Kipaulu and Oheo on Maui's Backside or visiting the Iao Valley in the morning, well before the afternoon rain.
You can't help but sunbathe while on Maui. The sun is out and no matter where you are sun will be hitting you and warming you up. We love to hang out in the shade on the beach as close to the ocean as we can get.
Going to baby beach near Sprecklesville is a favorite family outing. Aptly named because it's very well protected from large waves, it's shallow with a flat bottom and a long stretch of coral for 100 yards. Sunbathing and playing with the kids by Maui's most natural "pool" is one of our favorite things to do on Maui. Open to all, especially small children.
Maui has a lot going for it especially underwater. The life on the coral reef that surrounds the islands of Maui county are spectacular. Take a trip out to Molokini in the morning for the most clear picture of a real life aquarium. Get even closer to the animals at Maui Ocean Center!

Some Maui tours include a stop at the Tedeschi winery. This beautiful area located on the slopes above Wailea and Makena is home to a winery, deli and a handful of people. You can find their inspired creations at most island stores that sell liquor.
Picking flowers is one of the local Maui things to do when out in Hana. Bringing flowers back for the family. Some of our guides like to stop at a flower farm for a Hana picnic. The owner has a flower for each of the ladies on the tour and lets you know how you can get them sent to all their loved ones on the mainland. Wander around the flower farm to see the variety of living bouquets that they have to offer. They also have some Hawaiian handmade jewelry too.
